The FPV-Power Power Regulator 12V allows your battery to deliver a steady voltage throughout the day. Certain electronics, mainly fishfinders, have a minimum of 11V to run. The fish finder will shut off once the battery source dips below that minimum. With a 12V battery, the voltage levels will naturally drop off as the charge is used. The issue here is that once your battery drops below 11V, some electronics will shut off, but plenty of charge remains in the battery. Using a regulator eliminates that problem, allowing you to hold a steady voltage through the entire battery charge. Allowing your battery to run continuously at 12V throughout the charge gives you the ability to run your electronics much longer. The smaller 1.5A version is sufficient for most fishfinders, but check the specs for your particular fishfinder to see the maximum amps allowed. If you need a larger version, the 5A is also available.
